Alliance Flooring Rewards CarpetsPlus Color Tile Members at 11th Annual Awards Ceremony
Chattanooga, TN — 3/11/08 Alliance Flooring, Inc., parent company of CarpetsPlus Color Tile®, Carpetland Color Tile and Floorco Direct to the Trade, recently held its 2008 Awards Ceremony at Atlanta’s Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel, February 24.
Kevin Logue, vice president of marketing for Alliance Flooring, and Ryan Dunn, vice president of sales, served as masters of ceremonies to a packed house in the historic Peachtree Ballroom.
Retailer of the Year finalists were chosen from a group of candidates who demonstrate growth and leadership in 10 specific areas including; increased market share, employee training, member networking, merchandising, brand advertising, customer service, community involvement and core supplier support.
While it was difficult to choose a sole recipient from the list of well-qualified finalists, a winner was chosen who exemplifies integrity, passion and over-all business growth. This year’s coveted Retailer of the Year award went to Mark and Mary Ann Dougherty of Hoosier CarpetsPlus in Bloomington, IN.
After starting out in a 12’ x 12’ office space with two employees 14 years ago, the Doughertys now have three locations in Indiana with 20 employees, seven of which are family members. They are looking to further expand next year into a new 18,000 square foot mega showroom. The Doughertys have faithfully served as members of the Advisory Board for several years. And as co-recipients of the Retailer of the Year Award in 2003, they became the first repeat winners in CarpetsPlus Color Tile history. They’ve been members since 2001.
Mary Ann Dougherty’s quote represents their enthusiastic spirit and how they approach their business, "Look for the future, everyday go after it!"

Alliance Flooring Highest Sales Increase Award Winner
This new award went to the member who had the highest sales increase regardless of division. If this award existed prior to this year, he would have won it the past five years in a row.
